Dead Disco II in BFE?
Currently on the road 1200 miles from home needing help to diagnose this wonder. I am in the middle of nowhere, 78 miles from closest LR dealer…. Got in the 2000 Disco II to take care of some business this evening, en-route to my destination (less than 2 miles) the battery warning light came on. Knowing this was odd, I continued to my destination. One mile into the drive the service engine light came on. After a short meeting I got into the Disco praying the light show was gone…The truck barely turned over, feeling like the battery was drained and dead. Thinking I just killed off the battery I figured that I would go to my hotel and locate a shop/store to get a battery in this little town. As I drove out of the parking lot the display lit up like a Christmas tree with the following warning light coming on. Battery, Service Engine Soon, Traction Control, ABS, Both suspension lights. The sport mode “S” as well as the “M” mode were blinking as well as the current gear indicator (the D for drive was flashing). Drove the 2 miles and parked it. So veterans help me out with this! Thanks[>:]
So who ever taught to keep driving on a failing electrical charging problem. You either fried the battery, or alternator or your belt is to loose to run the alternator proberly. As for all the other warning lights, the trucks different system won't run well under about 13.2 volts so the all coded.
Have someone check your charging system after the baqttery has been charged, the battery needs to hols 14,0 volts plus and the alternator need to be above 13.8 and idealy up at 14.4.
After that is taken care, then you will need to get to the dealer or a shop with a AutoLogic scanner, have them read and clear all the codes and go from there.

I had this similar problem but without any warning. My wife was driving down the road and the car completely shut down on her. Took it to an independent Rover mechanic with an AutoLogic scanner and he diagnosed it with a faulty Transmission ECU. They're pretty expensive, but you can get a used one at www.roverlandparts.com for $200.00 USD. But now I have a similar new problem which I will post for help.
