Figured it was a balancing, took it to STS guy claims he balanced front tires, but noticed my front left tire rod was broken.

Didn't charge me, just gave me a quote.

Kinda feel like he is misdiagnosing the problem, though I don't doubt the tire rod is broken. Rover has been swaying a bit recently.

Anyone?
It is doubtful that the tie rod is broken. If it was you'd probably be dragging it and unable to drive. The most likely is that the tie rod end is worn. That could cause the Rover to wander and should be replaced, depending on which end it is and whether you have replaceable ends. Some setups require you to replace the whole rod... If you have that I'd be sure to get a replacement rod with replaceable ends for future maintenance.

You should take it to an alignment shop and ask them to take a look, point out what's wrong, and then order your own on the Internet if that is the problem. Once it is replaced you would have to get it aligned anyway so just take the new one to the shop and let them do their magic.

Ah wait.. it gets better..

Take it back to Midas to get the tires balanced (did the balance a few months ago), come back 4 hours later. Oh we just started, 5 minutes later. Oh hey this is your problem, you have a big bump in your tire! Let me go price out a tire for you.

Me... Put the spare on, and I'll be on my way. Sure enough, problem remained the same.

2 places, you'd think 1 could do the ****ing service I ask for.

Reason I know its the balancing? Same symptoms as last time, including no shaking or rattlings when going around a bend.

Ah update..

Got the tires balanced, definitely the majority of the knocking/rattling/shaking above 60mph is gone.

BUT....

There is a bit up shaking still, especially at lower speeds. Could be rolling up at a light and you can feel it bump left, then bump right in rotations... Feels like rear to me IMO.
