Default Discovery check engine warning

Hy'all,

I have recently purchased a Discovery 2? 1998300TDI SE auto.
When driving along at any speed, when I lift my foot off of the throttle, the engine appears to die or revs suddenly drop off and the check engine warning light appears simultanesly. As soon as I increase the revs the engine picks up again and the warning light dissapears.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what this problem is?

Thanks!

Arf

Sorry, you probably won't get a reply from us, none of us are lucky enough to have a diesel.
Wish we could help.

You have a DI. Change the fuel filter and then have the injector pump looked at. It sounds like a fuel delivery problem.

I have the same Discovery and i have the same problem. landrover told me it might be the injector with the electronic sensor inside or the crankshaft positioning sensor. i am going to exchange and hoping it will work if you have allready solved the problem please let me know how.
