I filled up with hi test(93)and used Seafoam. Instead of the service engine light coming on in about 10 to 12 miles. I now have about 65 mileson the LR and no light. It would appear that the codes 171 & 174 wasfouled injectors. Thank you for all you help.

After two bottles of Seafoam, the SEL came on again with an odd code for 4th gear. I ordered a MAF and installed last night. This would appear to be the problem. I am not a part replacing type person. But, with the help of this forum, I was able to troubleshoot and repair without throwing parts at the problem. Thanks fore the responce and help.

Per your last post, I got the impression you don't always use high test, if that is the case, with the new year coming tomorrow, it is time to change your habit.

I have been getting these codes too p0171, po174 for about the last month. i diligently went through every vaccum line and checked for leaks, replaced the aire filter (needed it anyway) and the MAF O ring. in the mean time i replaced the plug wires with magnacors (took off the IM). I felt confident that there were no leaks.

so, i replace the MAF 217.00 at AB. ......no more codes.

this site and LRRf gave me good ideas on how to diagnose. thanks!
