As for SLS or non-SLS compatibility, there are no different part numbers. Any DII SLABS can have the SLS setting toggled between air springs and coils. If your truck has coil springs in the rear you'll want to confirm the SLABS is set for coils. If your truck had air springs originally and the SLABS is configured for them it can drain the battery trying to run the compressor to adjust the ride height, even with the truck turned off.
I'm in the process of doing this for my 2000. What is the difference between the 100050 and the 500070? i.e. what makes the 500070 the Holy Grail? Thanks!

Personal preference.

The OEM 04 CDL cable setup = 100% mechanical

I don't know of any documentation available to us about the differences between the 100050 and the 500070. I expect that the 500070 is the Holy Grail only because it was the final version, and presumably has a tweak or two vs. the 100050.

I don't recall how many '04s I've found in boneyards and looked for a 500070 without finding one. Between my post in August and now I pulled the SLABS from yet another '04 to and found it to be a 100050. I didn't think to look at the build date on the door sticker.

If you can't source a 500070 just go ahead with a 100050. It has the most important updates and has worked just fine in my truck.

Thanks for the information! I found a 500070 on eBay but it was $300 versus $80 for a 100050. Of note, the 500070 had a build date of 2006. I went with the 50 as I don't plan to wheel my Disco too hard.

This is off the chart good info!!!!!!!

I was wondering though, is the 500070 the best because it was the last? How were you able to make this determination?

Also, I want to see which one I have in both of my ‘04s (you have me not confident I’ve got the Holy Grail ones, but would like to know). Is the only way to pull the glove box and take a gander?

I think this is a very important discussion in terms of proving just how good a D2 can be out of the box.

Doing some quick research, I think this helps explain it a bit:
