Default Door Lock Issue

I have almost always unlocked/locked my disco II with just the key in the driver's door handle. Yesterday it started only unlocking my driver's door, but I could still reach around to the doors and open them with the handles. I started her up this morning and I could now magically unlock and lock all the doors using the button on the dash. Tonight however, things went south again...same issues, only drivers door unlocks with key, rest of the doors will lock but not unlock with fob AND I think I must have superlocked it so now I cannot even open any of the other doors. Also the button on the dash does not work. This is a big problem lugging 2 heavy back packs to and from school. Please let me know if you have any magical fixes or tips...I got it back from the shop this past Monday and my mech is sloooooooow (but he loves rovers!) so don't make me take it back. Thanks

I recently had the same issue. I had to replace 4 of the 5 actuators, only the drivers door was fine.

I would pull the connection from each one and spray it with electronics spray from your auto parts store, put some dielectric grease on the connectors with a q tip, and see what happens. Two of mine came back to life that way.

Remember when you are testing that the doors will not properly lock or unlock unless the door is closed.

Is there a way I can relatively easily unlock them just until I can get it into the shop?

Maybe I am misunderstanding. You can unlock them from the handles inside... If you can get in just pull them once to unlock. I did that for weeks before I took the connectors apart.

The lock motors are outrageously expensive and a real, honest, PITA to replace. For the front doors you have to take the mirrors and window frames off. Wow! Reliving it. You ahould try rehabbing them first because the connectors are easy to get to. Well, I suppose first check the fuse. Then rehab connectors at the motors. Failing that, eBay is always an option but I have bought two that did not work and could have bought one new one for the same price.
