Does the foil make that much of a difference? I mean, i just installed the mock-up winter blades from AB and I'm going to see if it wipes all thru, because if it doesn't, I might want to take it out and re-fit as my friend has suggested... AK

 

OP here. I followed all the suggestions given and the blade was still lifting off the glass when wiping and not resting against the glass when turned off. I bought a new wiper arm and airfoil from AB. The airfoil clips were broken off...I don't know, maybe that was part of my problem. Anyway, the new wiper arm and airfoil works greats! Now my Silblade rests against the glass and doesn't lift off at all. Problem solved! For those of you who have had the same problem and couldn't fix it, maybe it's time to just get a new wiper arm (and/or airfoil, in my case).

 

my driver side wiper blade is lifting off the windshield on one side of the blade also and I just got new blades.
