Dropping the sump..any tips?
I have an 02 disco with the intermittent coolant leak....leaks when it's cold, nothing when warmed up or on warm days. Pressure test revealed a leak in the timing cover gasket.
I've followed threads on this forum and the RAVE manual and only need to drop the sump now. I have four bolts left holding it on and wondered if anybody had any tips for dropping it down. I know I have to raise the vehicle with the jack to allow for clearance over the front axle. Question is how heavy is the sump, it looks pretty heavy. I was going to try and support it on a trolley jack at the rear and slowly lower and push back whilst holding the front.
Is it a one man job or will I need extra help. The truck is parked up on blocks and so not that high off the ground.
Thanks in advance for any help.
