Default Ebay head gasket kits?

So just heard from the shop, my DII indeed has blown a HG

The rover shop I went to told me that I should look on ebay for a HG kit because prices have decreased dramatically. I asked if they were any good at $100 for the kit and they said they hadn't heard anything bad.

I'm wondering if anyone has any first hand experience using these kits as I don't think the gaskets are Victor Reinz. There is multiple brans available for around 80-120 bucks. One called BECK/ARNLEY and of course Allmakes. Any opinions?

Someone just posted a link in a different thread for a Victor Reinz kit for under $100.

With head bolts? I know you can get the gasket set for around $100 but the kits on ebay include head bolts with them too for around $100

If you want low prices and good quality, as well as great service.
Lucky8 is where to buy

No, not with head bolts.
Personally I wouldn't trust a kit that included bolts if it was that cheap. Maybe it would work, maybe it wouldn't. And maybe it wouldn't have all the pieces you needed.

Yeah, see that's the same kit thats on ebay. If Lucky8 is selling it you think it's a good kit? I'm already buying their front driveshaft so it makes sense for me to throw this kit on there too if it's not junk.

Call Lucky8 for a better deal.
I've spent alot of money on parts from them in the last several months. Can't say enough good about them or their parts.
Had I not found them, I think I would have sold the Rover quick, as everyone else's prices are ridiculous.

I used an eBay kit three years ago. It wasn't from L8, but I haven't had any issues. I'd definitely recommend the cheap kits, but for sure call Lucky 8 and order from them. They might also have a forum member discount if you ask. They do on most items.

Just did it! Thanks, they hooked me up with a good price on the whole kit. Just said I needed to make sure and have the heads machine (planning on it anyway).
