How do you remove the blades? Or are you talking the blade and the integrated piece that hold the circut board?

1) Get this blank key blade and fob case:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/254641840524?fits=Year%3A2002%7CModel%3ADiscovery% 7CMake%3ALand+Rover&hash=item3b49d6218c:gWMAAOSw NWxaD8Q9

2) Then take it to a locksmith and get the blade cut. Transfer the circuit board internals to this new key fob casing:

3) The North America key circuitry uses the 315 MHZ band. Other countries use the 433 Mhz. Many Ebay sellers sell the latter which will not work.

4) Programming with a Nanocom requires the use of a 6-character passcode. The passcode can usually be found in a sticky on the factory circuit board (see picture). It is important that the Ebay sellers supply this 6-digit info if you plan to use the Nanocom for key programming.

5) One of forum members rents out their Nanocom. Instructions for using the Nanocom to program the key circuitry to your Disco:

Alternatively, you can use a Hawkeye or Testbook. I am not familiar with these methods. They require a different process / passcode that others can chime in.

The blade just pulls out of the handset case. Friction fit.

You can also just use the blade you have in the new handset case.

Thanks acg, swapped the blade and circuit board to the new case and everything is working perfectly.
