Relaxing? Did you mean replacing?
I wouldn't think it would be worth the effort. The e-brake operates on the rear driveshaft. There's always going to be a certain amount of play in the system between there and the wheels, so it's not like it's set up for precise stopping or holding anyway.

If you have a problem with your e-brake it is most likely full of gear oil from the leaking rear output of the transfer case. I'd check that first.

Yes replacing, on mobile.

The original ebrake was not in great shape and there is an ebrake kit with a caliper a and disc.

Instructions say it’s good just need to make a slight relocation to handbrake cable.

I’ve seen that brake mod once on a TD5 Disco 2. The owner said if he had to do it all over again, he wouldn’t.
Just adjust the cable linkage and/or check/replace the drum brake pads.

That seems to me to be an example of a solution looking for a problem.

Besides one used D2 I bought which had a broken E-Brake cable the LR Drum Brake on the axle is normally a very reliable unit unless like mentioned above it fills up with 80/90w gear oil.
