I wouldn't think it would be worth the effort. The e-brake operates on the rear driveshaft. There's always going to be a certain amount of play in the system between there and the wheels, so it's not like it's set up for precise stopping or holding anyway.

Besides one used D2 I bought which had a broken E-Brake cable the LR Drum Brake on the axle is normally a very reliable unit unless like mentioned above it fills up with 80/90w gear oil.
