Default Ecu, immobiliser problem, fuel pump

Land Rover discovery 2 td5, yr 2000
The only key we have for the discovery was failing. Tried to get a replacement key but wasn’t having any luck. Was advised to get the immobiliser removed on the ecu as it was a fob issue rather than the key. Sent off the ecu to a recommended company and was returned within days. Re installed the ecu, and alarm on car and red light on dash still functioning. When we spoke to company they said the alarm wouldn’t be removed. Managed to get the fob button to just about work to disable alarm, and had to press it again to stop red light flashing before starting the vehicle. The vehicle fuel pump and engine started but only ran for a few seconds. Fuel pump had stopped running. So a few questions
1. has the immobiliser not been removed on the ecu?
2. Has something happened to the ecu to stop fuel pump running (it was working fine until we sent it away) or is it coincidence and fuel pump has stopped working?
3. If it is the ecu and where we sent it has messed it up, what are our options, they are not responding to our emails and have no phone no
4. any recommendations of how we can get a new set of keys
Thank you for any advice,
Hugo!

I can't help a lot. I've never heard of removing the Immobilizer from the ECU (so I don't think you can). A good scanner that supports these older LR's would be very helpful. Nanocom from BBS is generally considered to be the best scanner for this generation of LR's, but also expensive. If you plan to keep your LR the Nanocom is very much worth it.

BCU stuff can be super frustrating. I don’t think they can do what they claimed “removing the immobilizer from ECU” - that’s probably them full of it.

BCU issues can be mpossible to diagnose sometimes, it seems, but you can do it. methodical. And - Do you have access to a Nanocom by chance?

See this video - I have never heard of this before now btw -
.

For #4 -Rovers North has uk spec frequency key(s) on sale brand new right now that’s UK spec - https://www.roversnorth.com/parts/cw...e_discovery_ii
It’s cheaper because they’re a US company and this is a non US frequency. $199 and you have a key, just code it to the car with nanocom.

BTW I’d disable "passive immobilization" with a nanocom btw.

Read this thread. Not exactly your scenario but similar turf, I believe. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rov...estion.366757/

You can turn it off with a nanocom, is there a source in your area?
