To be honest, It's turned into quite a project vehicle for me, so one of the few things I haven't been able to fully measure over short time I've had it is fuel economy. I tend to do something that would effect fuel economy more often than I fill it up. I know that right now my Ultragauge says I'm getting 13.2mpg around town, short trips for testing and grocery store runs type of things, not that many long runs on each tank. But like I said, I never got to establish a good long time running baseline for this vehicle, as it's been a work in progress since I've owned it. And I don't know how reliable the UG is for mpg, although I do reset the full tank every time I fill up, so maybe it's not far off?

I'm looking forward to others continued input on this thread, including what MPG benefits are seen, sorry I don't have that info directly, my D2 wasn't in super shape when I got it.

I've been tracking mine with fuelly.com, when I get some miles on the e-fan I'll post numbers.

Some before coolant temp vs speed graphs. Went for a drive yesterday evening and this morning, Same route [23.3mi, 248-436ft elevation, average speed 33mph, max speed 60mph, 44mins], Outside temp about 85-88F. Coolant temps look normal, rising when slower/stopped and dropping back down when I speed up. Looking to see how much difference there will be with the electric fans.

That's some awesome info! Is that some of the Fuelly.com tracking info you mentioned before?

I expect you'll a difference in warm up and cool down times and temps, and less high temp spikes as well. This'll be cool to see, Thanks for adding it Sandman614

Nah that's just coolant temp vs speed logged from the OBD port.

It's a dual 13" fan and shroud setup, with hwy flaps, wiring, and hose clips. From my research, I estimate it to pull around 2500-3000cfm, which should work even with an LS swap.

2014 Ford Fusion fan, junkyard with wiring $80

Well well would you look at that.. One minor difference and it doesn't fit.. I had searched for a 2014 Fusion and apparently LKQ cross reference thinks the 2013 fan is the same, while it may fit a fusion it won't fit Rover, why don't they understand what we're trying to do here I guess I have to return this or make my own shroud.. I guess I got excited and jumped when I saw one pop up in the local lot.

Edit: With some more searching and comparing part numbers the correct one is indeed from a 2013-2020 Fusion with 2.0 or 2.5L engine
SKU: DG9Z-8C607-J
Other Names: Fan & Motor, Motor And Fan Assembly Engine Coo
Description:

At least it was only a $3 mistake. Luckily they got a 2.0L fusion in since my last visit to the junkyard. The 2nd time extracting the fans is much faster lol.
I did learn that the fan motors themselves are the same, the main difference is the fan orientation.

Could you be talked into putting a tape measure across this unit? I'm wondering if it could work on a D1. Thanks,

Sure 27 1/8 x 18 9/16"
If the radiator hose locations are flipped from the D2 you can get the 1.6L Ford fusion fans.
