I think the radiator core size of the D1 is a couple inches shorter than the D2, so this fan may be a little taller than you need. I think they were about the same width, but not the same height.

Yes, you're correct. Just measured and it's too tall. Bummer.

Working on my install today. Only question so far is which outflow are the D2 radiators? *That's a dumb question* I just looked at the orientation of the tanks on the pic.. Cross Flow

Looking great! You're doing a lot more trimming than I did, and it's fitting REALLY nice! You may not need the rubber seal with it all trimmed in tight like that, cool idea, nice work

Seems like you figured out the D2 radiator is crossflow, with inflow at the top and outflow at the bottom. I'm curious what kind of sensor does your controller have?

Just a little thermistor wrapped in heat shrink

It's a much easier swap than I originally thought. I'll be posting temp graphs to compare once I get it done.

Like I said in my original post, I may try the DCC controller brand if I ever do it again, both for the easier sensor it has, and the lack of squealing noise it supposedly does not have. But, for what I did......
Nope don't change a thing! This thing whines and squeals like an ambulance too.. Seems like it's at it's worst below 1amp and the fans get to be louder than the whine after that point.

Well heck, that's as bad, if not worse than the Derale. Good to know, and Thanks for posting that! I was curious if all the controllers did it, and it seems like they do. I've gotten used to it at this point, and find myself listening for the sound to tell me if the fans are running or not when sitting at a stop light (have to turn the radio off to hear it tho).

My controller has the loudest squeal when the fans are at their lowest RPM, then it gets quiet when the fans are at high speed. Works great, but I bet it makes people look at my Disco funny in the grocery store parking lot, lol

I'm really looking forward to seeing your temp graphs after this mod. I didn't get to do any data logging before I did mine, and I love that kinda info. What app or tool are you using to collect data thru your OBDII?
