Engine or Everything Else?

Engine or Everything Else?
So I could use some more advice. Going to be making a fair sum of money over the next 3 months and I'm trying to determine the best way to spend it in regards to my Disco. Currently she sits dorment back in NH but I might be getting her shipped up here. Anyways so Should I invest in an engine overhaul or hold off and work on everything else including service and upgrades?
Engine overhaul: heads, pressure test, belts, ignition wires, spark plugs, new studs, try to get engine knock resolved and any other internal engine issues addressed.
Or
Everything else: replace brake booster, rear calipers, upgrade ss brake lines, upgrade to ceramic pads spotted rotors, address check engine light, update cooling system and thermastate, scan guage, upgrade to ss exhaust system, new bf gopdrich tires, clean nd paint wheels, take out dents, fix door latch, fix passenger seat controls, replace window seals, replace rear driveshaft, flush fluids again, tranny service, replace mass air and cps sensors, 02 sensors, if enough money left then add lift and safety device.
Everything else option sounds the best to me but ill have to keep in mind that if my motor ****s the bed, ill be screwed until late next year! Engine has a off and on tick and about 133 on the clock right now. But if I get the engine overhauled then I cent get much else done until late next year. So what you guys think?

lol I think you forget that I'm in Alaska. http://s1201.photobucket.com/user/Ju...src=wap&page=1 might be moving here permanently for afew years. Obviously I'd have to get most of the work done before I ship her up here but I would not want to sell it even for a rust free Disco. I'd rather just spend the $$$ 1 per year for premium undercoating. I'll look into that engine you spoke of Savannah.

I just have one dent under the rear drivers side tail light. Irrates the **** out of me. I have a crack in the tail light so ill just wait until I replace that to fix the dent. So you guys leaning towards the engine replacement vs everything else? Do these notorious engines just flat out die? I really would like to hold off engine as ling as possible, be nice to get everything else done and up to date but I also don't want to get stranded if the engine dies.

re: try to get engine knock resolved
Depends on what is making the knock. We have a 200,000 miles club, but not a lot have made it there without a head gasket. And I suppose you could have an engine shipped to AK, and have a shop do it up there. It is good that you will have the funds to make these choices.
It might be possible for you to arrange for your truck to be taken to a shop back home, and get a pro opinion on what would be required to resolve the knock problem. A wrecker charge, and a few hours labor. Then you will have enough info to make a good decision. At the moment anything else is a guess, educated or not.
