Just out of curiocity,,,i remember a long time ago(in a galaxy far far away) someone swapped the engine out of a Range Rover Classic with that of a corvette. i remember seing the web site. Does anyone know of the project and its sucsess? Will it be posible on a Disco II???

 

I believe that was done a number of years ago by Reeves Callaway in CT. I drove one of his "Vette-Ranger" creations that had that motor and a 5 speed tranny. It hauled, but had too much torque for the suspension...it really twisted when you jumped on it! JF

 

too much torque, the driveline will not hold up...

 

Forget it, you are replacing the tranny, t/case both diffs and drive shafts along with a huge expense in adding the engine, oh and a new suspension to hold the extra weight.
