Hi Guys,

I have a 98 Disco with the 4.0 and an Auto transmission behind it. I always felt it could use a little more power. Now a 4.6 has come up for sale form a 98 Range rover. How compatable is this engine to be put in my Dosco since I know my 4.0 was put in Range Rovers of the same era. Any insight would be appreciated.

 

Pretty easy swap over. 4.6's are getting pretty expensive now days, are you getting a pretty good price on it?

Had a line on a 4.6 but was sold before I could get to it but it now has me intregued. Anything special I need to do to make a successful swap? And will the rest of the drivetrain handle it fine?

 

Take a look on Discoweb... there are many a thread on replacing the 4.0 gems with a 4.6 bosch.
