Does anyone know ifthe engine(im not sure yet if its the 4.6 or 4.0) trans, interior,wheels etc.. from a 03 disco 2 would go into a 96 disco 1. I would have the entire vehicle. I have a 96 with a bad motor but great body and could purchase a wrecked 03 disco 2 if things would interchange ok. Thanks

 

I think that if you changed out the ECU and the TCU you can do it. You might have to relocate the motor/trans mounts.
I know that there is a kit to bolt a 4.6 onto a 4.0 trans for the D1's.
I used to have a link to a place in New England that would drop a new 4.6 into your D1 for under $10k.
I lost the link and have been kicking myself ever since.

Yes, that is the place. I have been thinking that is the way I will go when my 4.0 pukes.
I'm still going to try and make it last as long as I can, but when the inevitable does happen.

 

they will even put a deisel in for you. 25-30 mpg that would be so great
