Thanks for the info. I live here in oklahoma. No emissions or vehicle inspection. So other than operation problems I may be in good shape. Hopefully the donor is SAI. Motor was given to me. 20,000 miles on the motor. Are the heads as hard to change as a diesel heads are?

no they come off rather easily, especially because you will be doing it with the motor out of the car. Pull off the intake and exhaust manifolds, valve covers and your 16 bolts way from new gaskets.

Hey drowssap you have convinced me to swap the heads and do it right. Thanks for the advice. I have the rover on the lift and donor motor on the stand still with transmission attached. This looks like it is going to be a very interesting project. We are going to dive in in the am.

Well we took off the body to do the swap. We are changing the engine and the transmission. thought 30,000 mile on both versus 130,000 miles on my old. Might as well do both.

why flush the dexcool and go with 50/50? are there issues w/ dexcool and what are the benefits of 50/50? or, is your comment specific to his situation w/ the engine swap? I've been wondering about this. thanks!

Dexcool does not cool the engine as well as normal yellow or green coolant and leaves a gunky residue inside the cooling system that lessens the system's ability to cool. Traditional yellow or green 50/50 doesn't do this and flushing the cooling system and replacing the coolant with 50/50 will actually drop the engine temps quite a bit.

Hey Guys I have the body off waiting on new engine mounts. The mounts were all busted. Had question upon the engine swap someone asked if there is a security code or some code that I have to have to swap motors. I kept the orginal computer module. But I have the other one as well. What do I need to do or what is the problem with this and the engine swap? Experience is needed on this thanks for any advice.
