Engine temperatures
I have been reading a while on these forums looking for go/no go temps and just wanted to get a hard and fast answer from the pros. I live in pensacola so it is hot and humid so I sometimes hit 225-230 after running it 55-60 then returning to idle. On the highway 45-60 mph I stay low 190's even in the heat. But after I slow it jumps to 220-230ish. I have only seen 230 twice. I have done radiator flush with new coolant and I am running 50/50 mix. Should I go ahead and put water wetter in?

The numbers provided are coolant temps correct?
I finally got the my oil temp gauge installed and got some numbers before and after installing the thermostat mod.
Before Mod (outside around 90-95F):
Idle - ~200F Oil Temp
Highway - ~220F
After Mod (Outside 95-100F):
Idle - ~180
Highway - ~220F
Oil temp even hit 240F while going up I-70 out of Denver into the Mtns (for those that dont know its about 7-10 miles of steep grade)
Anyone else have oil temp numbers? 220F running at 55mph-75mph down the highway is way too hot if you ask me (95-100F outside...pretty much the story of the country for the past month)... i thought the oil cooler mod was going to be over kill but now i am wonder why the hell they deleted it on 4.6...
(Rad fluid was flushed and changed with Peak - Global and a bottle of water wetter; 75K 2003 D2 4.6)

I have an ultra guage and that is engine temp. The vehicle has been tuned up too and the fan runs as advertised. It kicks on at 204ish and is blowing the correct direction. Typical idle is about 210 but after I do some city driving and then idle it gets around the 220 mark. If I am giving it gas and driving around the intake temp goes down everything is good.

Oh just to reiterate temp stays around195ish on highway. So not too bad and when I slow from highway driving it goes to 205-210. When I am doing city driving roughly 25-40 with stops, when I finally end my trip and park it temp goes in the 220's. It got to 230 twice today. Just wondering if I need to be concerned.

Fan clutch and/or Radiator and or both.
Radiator can only be so efficient - - depending on corrosion and blockage
on the inside
On the outside - the fan clutch is driven by temperature from the radiator.
The fan clutch may be partially bad and that may be contributing.
The fan clutch is made to work at low speed it seems from observing my working fan clutches on D1 and D2.
At high speeds the fan clutch disengages.
I would check you are running the correct fan and that the plastic shrouds are all installed correctly for air flow.

For chevy Corvettes, but I bet the technology is the same.

With a new motorad 180 T/sat and full flush running 50/50 peak I now get 190-194 on the free way and the max down town is 204. Just pulling my heavy trailer with an ATV on it up to Vermont this weekend the average on the free way was 195 and got a spike of 208 on route 7 by Albany, these were taken by the Ultra Gauge EM and the A/C running. So looking at your temps then I was wondering when you last changed your T/stat and if the by pass holes on it are blocked or water pump problems or fan problems as when you are driving along the freeway your temps are about right, but the issues are with low speed driving.
