Extended roof rails
#11
I got myself a trailer hitch from Paul G. Thanks Paul. Looks the business after a decent coat of black rattle can. I don't have immediate trailer plans. Defo for the future though.
In more exciting news I snaffled the 'hard to find' roof bars from the clutches of 'Ol Ab'. Sorry 'Ol Ab'.
If it's any consolation they were a real pita. Most of the fixings had rusted solid into the captive nuts, then the heads had snapped off. Only drilling out the full length of the bolts sorted it. Getting the silly plastic plugs out of the bars was bad enough. Anyway 2 hours later and they are proudly mounted.
I'm still limited to carrying short things though. Well, I thought I could lay a thick pad on the back of the car, have the long thing stick out the back and strap it down to the new trailer hitch. A better solution would be to have a single roof bar at the back, ideally with a chunky roller for ease of loading.
Where might I find such an item?
