For the people who have don a 2" body lift was it necesary to cut and extend the steering shaft? Or can I just loosen lift and retighten? Thanks in advance!

Why do a 2" body lift when you could do a 2" suspension lift?

Mostly because it was given to me for free, I've searched
And searched and would just like to know from experience about the steering shaft.

I don't think you will have to extend it. I have 2" suspension lift and it's fine. However, there will be a 2" gap between your bumpers and the body.

Suspension lifts don't affect the steering shaft, body lifts move the steering column further from the steering box, thus the inquiry about an extended shaft.

I have not done a body lift, nor do I want to. But the steering shaft is at an angle and is a slip style so I doubt you'll need to extend it. But, it would be good to check before driving around.

Just to follow up to help others that may search, you do not have to extend the steering shaft. There is enough play, so just loosen shaft lift and retighten. The shaft comes out about 3/4"
