Fire extinguisher mounting suggestions
If you want to have one in your truck I'd think you'd want to be able to reach it from the driver's seat. I like Alex_M's idea of mounting it on the rear of the center console - mostly out of the way but still accessible.
Thanks to all for the suggestions. I've played around with it, and I'm going to either have to mount it to the rear door, put it under one of the front seats or in the passenger's wheel well. It won't quite fit on the back of the center console. I'm leaning toward putting it as close as possible to the driver's seat for fastest access.
I had one mounted near the drivers seat in my 05 Rubicon, and after a very hard stop it flew out of the crappy plastic fire extinguisher mount and got wedged under the pedals.
I had to secure it and after that it was no longer just a quick grab. I could run around to the rear door just as fast if not faster and grab one.

This is a very bad idea...
And this is exactly why.
I have mine mounted to the rear door, the mount is screwed into the plastic surround above the rear door subwoofer.
That said, I do have my life hammer mounted on the seat bottom panel at my feet.

Sorry for the late reply. Here is a photo of mine mounted under the driver seat. I would not use the crappy clamp it comes with. This has been secured for a couple years. It works great.
I had mine on the back door for a while. It was fine except when I was camping. When the truck is loaded to the brim, the extinguisher always seemed to be in the way.
