I really hate to put this flimsy flex plate back on my rig knowing it will bust again if I tow my boat... Is there any way to buy or build a high performance/stronger plate??

Can I put 2 on together or Build one out of a stronger steel??

 

A thread was just started about this a few days ago, Ashcroft sells an HD flex plate.

 

Flex plates aren't something the average DIY mechanic can make in their garage, they are made from spring steel hence the term used. As Jeff states, Ashcroft manufacture and sell HD flex plates for D2's. They are cheaper and more reliable than any home made flex plates.
