I found my new pollen filter at a specialty store that sells foams for furniture and anything/everything else foam can be used for. Bulk item on a roll, cut to order, and sold by the foot/yard, with a 10 inch or so minimum, rather than pre-packaged panel/sheet.

It was very similar to the original material and/or the filter material Spike555 mentioned in his post.
Like Spike555's solution/post it was really cheap, and came in a sheet* that had to be cut to size etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if the only differences were that Spike555's was pre-packaged and came from HomeDepot.

So if the Foam store is closer than HomeDepot, (or if HomeDepot has run out for some reason) maybe check there first. Oh, and while you're at HomeDepot, you could check the water pump / water feature section in the land scaping department. The same or similar material is used filtering water.
Same probably goes for any tropical fish / aquarium stores.

Cheers,

Thomas

I had an old filter, but also a fan full of tiny leaves blown up under the hood I guess. When I did the new filter (Spike method), I cut an extra piece and shoved into the fresh air intake that leads directly down to the heater fan. Some one posted a photo of a fan full of hood blanket shredded insulation, others have had pine straw, etc.

I used it for the air intake on the bulk head at the back the engine compartment, the one that runs the entire width beneath the windscreen wipers...stops the leaves and dust etc getting into the airstream.
