Default Front Shaft Rebuild...Need Guidance

Hello,

I have a 2003 Discovery II/auto and want to rebuild the front shaft. I am interested in finding out exactly what parts I need to replace and any links that may give some guidance on the process. I have the RAVE manual but was looking for some first hand knowledge on what to look for and what is really required so I can get the parts on order. Thanks ahead of time...

Thomas

Send me your e-mail address and I'll send you a PDF file with all the parts and directions, step by step.

Rebuilding your front drive shaft will be a long and horrible process and you will need the right tools to complete this task. This will also require alot of patience and a few busted knuckles. Be careful how hard you pry on things because they are somewhat fragile some more than others. Good luck there are several wright up on it though. Also make sure that you get it re-balanced after you get done.

They are the only two I've seen on the net that don't have errors in them.

Lets see the finished product when youre done.

I tried replacing one of the u joints in that front prop double cardan in a Napa parking lot once.

Gave up an hour later then found the CDL nipple then limped the 70 miles home.

Dropped of the shaft with a lower drive line shop that catered to the amateur dragster crowd and have been good to go, three years running.

Rebuilt mine this past weekend, followed the post above and it worked out fine. It took me a few hours (first time) and some swearing, but it's doable.

The best suggestion I can give is: take your time, don't rush it!
