This is how I dealt with the grommet issue - bought this part at Home Depot for $2 (2 Pack) and shoved it in there, which took some work and the help of a very small flathead screwdriver. The hole in the body where the actuator solenoid pin sticks out is about 3/8”. This grommet holds the pin well and it works very well. The clip on the fuel door has no problem grabbing it easily each them and letting it loose. The pin doesn’t get lost behind the sheet metal body anymore. There are grommets you can buy online (maybe one that’s about 3/8-1/2”) and you can punch a hole through it if it’s a blank grommet. There are grommet sets on eBay for about $8.
