Geeze...The 3 Lights...TC, ABS, HDC&^%$
ORIGINAL: loic
It's probably not related, but last saturday I was on my way to Death Valley and those 3 lights came on and the bling bling thing, I stoped at a gas station to kind of see what was the problem and at the same time check fluid level, I was low on oil , about 2 quarts low, I added the oil , start the truck again and the light were gone . I drove over 300 miles on that day and the 3 lights never came back on.

Rovers will throw the lights for many reason, bottom line they are too dam sensitive. If they go back off quickly it is the ECU seeing a little glitch that it will then reset.
Sometimes they come on for a more major issue and stay on even though the ABS and t/c are still working. Then of course there are the major problems that will require repairs ASAP.
Does this help, probably not, that is Rover for you.

Mike,
Didn't get a chance to call you, but my mechanic seemed to be on the right track. He thought after looking at everything, it was simply a matter of the wrong pads and while there wasn't any dust, the squeeling brakes tripped the lights. He predicted a code reading, something along the lines of "irratic" or "implausible" reading of the rear, right speed sensor which is exactly what popped up. New pads, lots of cleaning and all is back to normal....fer now. He didn't charge me a penny. Now THAT was an unusual day for a Rover at the shop! My bank account is safe...fer now.
Thanks again Mike.

I've had the same problem recently on my '01 Disco II. I personally replaced the front rotors (Britain)and pads (EBC Green Stuff )about a month ago. I did not use any anti-squeal grease as the pads already had a rubber backing on them. I was very careful to follow Eurotek's procedures on bleeding fluid out of the bleed screws instead of pushing contaminants back through the modulator. Last week, the Trio ofwarning lights came on intermittently, andnow have stayed on.I would like tocheck the wheel speed sensorsbut I don't know what I am looking for or where to find them. Does anyone have a good description on finding/checking/reseating the wheel sensors? Pictures would be helpful. Also, if one/both of the wheel sensors are the problem, once I clean/seat them, will the Trio go away or do I have to have someone turn them off? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
