General D2 Questions
If your rear air suspension is working why not just keep it. It will always ride better than coils. If you are looking for a lift Toddco has spacers for the air springs and OME coils for the front.
Because I do too much off-roading to have the system to suddenly (and likely) fail. The rear would drop to the point of possible immobilization. I'm not willing to risk getting stuck 40 miles from the nearest road for a little bit of ride quality.
If you add extended bump stops in proportion to your lift and tires it's doubtful you'd get so stuck that you couldn't be recovered to some flat ground. Then if you kept an old spare, somewhat leaky bag in your spare parts box, you'd be back and going in no time. While the airbags aren't as robust as coil springs, I think they are very easy to replace. It just depends on what you are doing I suppose. If certain my keep them if towing. If just off-road stuff then coils are probably a better option.
For sure if I was towing then it would be worth keeping. All of my off roading is solo. So a failure means I need to pay hundreds or more to get towed out. Not worth it all. I will remove the system as gently as I can to pass on to someone who may use it.
