His heater core hoses were cold anyway even if it was 50 % plugged the supply line would be hot

You are totally correct. Gonna bypass it for now since were getting into summer.

I just want to simplify things as much as possible right now until this gets sorted.

By bypassing the heater core you are essentially starting over so no need to do the bleed screw thing until you are done experimenting.

If it helps you isolate a problem then fine, but keep this in mind, you're wasting time doing the bleed screw trick and then reopening the system.

I'm telling you and I have been hearing from other people that the 180 Tstats are hit and miss lately

Sounds like a manufacturer made a boo boo on labeling their temp’s to the proper batch for sure! Very easy to do during the assembly process.

Best way to avoid any issues like that = boil the sucker before installing it vs spending all that time tearing it apart and doing the job several times.

Ugh, well the new britpart is in the car so.. yeah.

Something i was pondering though -- I measured the sensor on the lower intake manifold (which is new) and while it was reading 215 on the UG the brass fitting itself and the hard coolant pipe going into the lower IM was about 120ish. I IS CONFUSED

Is the lower IM temp sensor the only one that feeds signal to the UG / temp gauge?

It’s more for SAI function (sensor on the radiator). Upper sensor is what gives the actual temp reading.

I second this .I have a temp sensor just hanging under my truck .I just assumed it was to the outside temp measurement, now I'm a little more nervous. Lol I've glanced, not looked hard, at the bottom of my radiator and don't see where a plug could even go. If this is the lower temp sensor, is it possible, that where the sensor goes has a plug in it and I'm just not seeing it? Mine runs pretty warm on average. OBD scanner clocks it anywhere from 190-230. Temp Gage just stays in the middle .
