To clarify:
GPR has a good Product, Cannibal has a good product. I researched the hell out of this and made my decision ... I preferred Steve's Machining processes and his design to GPR's plain and simple. Yes GPR gives a longer warranty, that was a plus, but not the most important part of my decision.
Bottomline is that either these is a better option that the POS design that inhabits every stock motor...a timebomb of a motor.

I have no affiliation to Cannibal what so ever...I am just a plane jane stupid D2 owner that spent way too much money on restoring a Trek Edition 03...believe me I wish at this point I was on someone else's D2 payroll

some other advice
for either of these motors I recommend Valvoline Racing Non Synth 10/30. This is very high in Zinc ... break in is key, follow the engine builders recommendation.. Front cover/oil pump gears must be in great shape this is a weakness make sure your builder goes over this with you.

You don't know exactly what his assumption was. All he said was very astute. Perhaps he thinks that you never post on these forums because your engine is super reliable. Or perhaps he thinks you own the company. He didn't really go into details. I'd say YOUR assumption was also not-so astute.
I'm glad you are happy with the engine.
