P0440 evap purge valve unsealed. That makes perfect sense considering that I went out to the rover this am and check the purge valve and the little metal clamp thingy on the rear of the purge valve was seated but not clasped. So I cleared the codes, restarted the truck, and I still have the stalling problem. Fault codes for O2 sensors and ABS remain. I dont care about the ABS stuff right now I just want to get the stupid truck running under her own power.

Incidently the check engine light is NOT on, even when she stalls out. Odd?
Can this much engine problem be just from bad O2 sensors?

idea? suggestions?

No bad O2 sensors just cause a little bit of a rough idle and cause the engine to run rich. Describe how it runs/stalls again. How is your fuel pump/pressure? Maybe the filter got gummed up sitting there half full? Also you sure all your clamps on the air intake lines are clamped tight? If it starts then stalls there could be a vacuum leak somewhere.

it seems to idle fine (other than being a little rough) but as soon as you put it into gear and/or accelerate it dies out. I will go out in the morning and let her get warm then put the ODBII reader on her and gather some real time data for you guys.

Whats the best way to check for a vaccum leak?

I realize that I am only a DI owner but I just had the same problem with mine. Turned out to be the IACV or the TPS. Replaced both with a new one, had my indie reset my ECU. Right as rain now. No more stalling when I give it gas.

Good thought check you idle solenoid and make sure that it is hooked up properly, you can even squirt some carb cleaner up in it to try to clean it out.
