I am getting the head gaskets and getting all new wires and plugs.Any suggestions on other things I should have done while they have it all apart?

Well, while the wallet is open:

1. Have them check fuel pump PSI, the test fitting is located in a hard to reach spot that they will uncover.

2. Strongly consider new water pump, oil pump, timimg chain, and front cover seal (part of the package).

3. Be sure you have greasable front prop shaft and rear drive shaft. If not, you are in the zone for it coming apart and spearing the transmission.

4. While they have heads off, valley pan gasket will be replaced, this provides opportunity to inspect / replace lifters, rods, camshaft.
