Heater core leak?
#21
The lure of the cheap core is strong. If you plan to follow that trail, consider testing core before installing (hook up some lines, pump it up). Also flush it out in both directions, maybe even with some chemical flush. The core has hot coolant flow all the time truck is running, so you want it to be good.

I found this. It may help speed things up for you. I am new at this, so I do not know if it will work for your Disco.

Like I said before, don't try to "save" time by trying those shortcuts and hacking things up. Just follow the rave except for removing the steering wheel. It's much easier in the end.
In order to get the core out and the new one back in, the hard tubes need to be removed which can only happen with the entire assembly out of the dash. The screw that holds the tubes to the assembly faces the firewall making it nearly impossible to access it while in the car. On mine, the insulation was also melted into the screw so some scraping and picking was needed before I even had access to the screw.

That's correct. I even thought about cutting the pipes but decided against it. The way the pipes are mounted helps keep pressure on the o-rings and cutting the pipes would have compromised that.

I've got a question for those who have done the job before. RAVE calls for you to remove the AC pipes from the evaporator and discard the o-rings. Is it necessary to do so? Atlantic British doesn't appear to have replacement o-rings for that part.
Does the AC have to come out? Is it possible to reach the screw that holds the pipes without removing the AC?
