Heater Only Works When Moving
The search function on this forum leaves a lot to be desired. If you get too specific it finds nothing and you generalize the search and it returns a lot more threads and replies than I have time to go through just to find a simple answer to a question.

No, not cranky, more tired of people asking the same questions over and over without taking it upon themselves to do a little research before they ask. I bet nearly half of my total posts on this site or repeats because people won't just look a little on their own.

Sorry, started reading the post, saw Mike's response and got irritated. The Nissan forum I used to frequent was nothing but people yelling at other people to use the search feature.
Sorry, Street Wolf I almost forgot about you, check your coolant level, when it gets to low then not enough coolant will flow through the heater at low RPM.
If you were to stay parked and rev the engine to 2k or so you would have heat.

Let engine cool,
Open the Resevoir and the small cap on the left side of the radiator
Fill the Radiator to the top with same type of coolant that is in the vehicle now..
50/50 Coolant and Distilled water.
Let the engine come up to temperature, this should take a while 10 minutes or so.
Turn Heater on Highest setting and blower on all the way.
You want the thermostat to open and let the coolant flow..
You will know this is happening when the coolant starts to gurgle up and out of the radiator fill.
Add more fluid to keep it full.. At this point I usually rev the engine while the thermostat is open
This will cause a surge of fluid to spill out of the top of the radiator.. Dont worry just put more in..
Let the engine go through several heat cycles
This should "Burp the System"
If it runs cold on the highway..
You need a new thermostat.
And yes.. The search function on this Forum is Horrendous..
I am a forum Junkie, and I have never seen a less effective search button EVER!!

OK, first off, let me say that I like you Mike, I do. I really believe you are one of the most knowledgeable and most avid contributors to this forum, and all the others that I personally have visited. Moving on, have you actually tried the vaunted search feature on any of these forums. It's GARBAGE, and that's being generous. If you search for one phrase, you get 9,999,999,999 results for that one topic. Now, I'm sorry, but we don't all have the depth or breadth of knowledge that you do personally. Speaking for myself, unless I remember reading the topic in the recent past, I'm gonna post my question and let the answers roll in. As AK said, this is one of the most helpful forums out there. You have personally given me some good advice in the past, and I hope that you continue to do so, but sometimes, when you need an answer, it's better to just create a new post. Plus, by creating a new post, you give visibility to the topic, which will often times bring new posters and new knowledge to the topic.

After trying a search a few years ago, I found out how bad it is and then started the old fashion way, you know the old saying, Let Your Fingers Do The Walking. There are 1000's of pages of past post, many of which I still refer back to some times.
Maybe I am just getting to old, I was taught to do it myself when I could and not be lazy and let some one else do what I should be doing.
Hey, Have a good weekend.

.
Let me rephrase that sentence...
50/50
50 percent coolant
50 percent Distilled water
if you buy coolant that says 50/50 on the bottle..
Use no water.. its already 50/50
50/50
50 percent coolant
50 percent Distilled water
if you buy coolant that says 50/50 on the bottle..
Use no water.. its already 50/50
