What you have to do is wedge open the upper rear part of the right side door, and stick something in so that you can push the door opener button on the dashboard.
Did it myself about 8 weeks ago. Mind you, that the surface of the button is quite slippery so it will not be easy.

 

After 6 years, he's probably worked out how to get into the truck by now.
