Default Help me identify D2 Half Shafts

I was tearing into my parts vehicle (2003 D2) for some spare parts and the axles don't look quite right. Id post some pictures but need 10 post.

24 spline on both ends with a spline diameter of f 1.24".

Are those HD axles? and if so what manufacture?

They could be Ashcroft HD Half Shafts.

Gonna be a late night... was needing a wheel speed sensor... now I wonder what else might be in the tubes.

They fit the description and measurements but don't have the circlip groove.
IDK if you found some Ashcroft halfshafts or not (lets hope), but....

Do you have the complete halfshaft and cv joint removed from the parts rig?
The circlip groove is where the cv joint slips over the halfshaft. That circlip needs to be there to lock the cv joint in place.

Where the cv joint end comes through the hub there will only be threads for the locknut.

Thanks for the parts diagram.... I just got the second half shaft removed.... all the bolts came out super hard. probably because its been setting for years.

Pictures coming in the next post.

This is what came out of the parts rover. Doesn't quite look like the diagram.... or perhaps I'm tired and missing something.

The one hub came out real hard and is seized up.....Time for a beer and bed.

Diameter

Spline Count

Short side

Long side

I'm confused why you're measuring the splined part? That would remain unchanged for HD or non HD, as they both fit into the same hub assembly. If anything the smooth section would be a different diameter, but typically it's just a different metallurgy

RCV’s are always easy to spot with their bright orange CV boot’s. Those look stock to me unless I’m missing something

I think you guys are right.... did some research and OEM shafts and HD shafts have the same spline count.

The diffs where open so there's no reason for the HD shafts to be in it.
