Default Help ME!! Intake manifold removal

Disco II.
We removed all 12 bolts in sequence from the manual and are at the step where it simply says "Remove inlet manifold". How do we pry that bad boy off without breaking anything? I put a pry bar in the head of the front valley gasket bolt head and tried to pry up the manifold but it will not release.

I know the four bolts are off of the coil but the injectors and fuel bar are still in (injectors are disconnected).

What to do???

did you removed the front and rear bolt that holds the gasket down? It has a metal tab on the front and back. You will have to remove that first.

The manual on page 447 indicates remove the inlet manifold as step 18. Step 19 says remove the bolts you speak of....

After ensuring that all of the bolts were out and feeling that a prybar under the manifold could damage something I put a 4x6 piece of wood in front of the manifold and gave it a sharp whack from front to back with a mull and it broke loose.

Job Done. Boom

Sometimes a good whacking is what's needed.
