RE: Help needed badly
Hi guys,
Fitting a new water pump and a new t-stat later today, fingers crossed it will work otherwise I will go bananas. Let you all know how i works out. OKDISCOGUY asked me before how I could bypass the T-stat. Maybe I used the wrong wording but what I did was from pipes built a piece that I could use instead of the T-stat. Also, my truck is a D2 V8 so it does not at all look like yours.
Cheers!

Gents,
New water pump and new t-stat, and it still overheats.Isn't life wonderful! However I am glad that you Disco Mikecame back intothe game.I also have some more clues for you. The radiator does'teven getluke warm even when it is boiling in the expansion tank. I removed the radiator and flushed several times from different directions and a lot of grease like substances came out. Refitted and and still boiling. Could the entire cooling system be clogged? If so, now what?
Still kicking!

RE: Help needed badly
2002 Disco, 60k miles. I have the exact same problem. Replaced the T-stat, removed the WP and it is fine. Engine runs hot but water never goes through the radiator. Radiator and lower hose always cold. I've purged for hoursper the manual, on flat ground as well as ona steep hill in every direction, w/ heater on and off. Heater blows hot so i know water is circulating through the block with the WP. The water though is not getting to thewater pump from the lower hose. I flushed the radiator for hours in both directions and it is free flowing, definetly not plugged. How do you get the air pocket out of the lower hose???I've worked on a ton of cooling systems and never been this stumped!!! help please.
