Whoa man, you really want to hack your truck up don't you?

Why didn't you just take the upper manifold off and replace the coils? And a CPS is way cheaper then a fuel pump so I wouldn't go replacing it yet. You can't bypass the CPS so you'll just have to figure out a way to get to it.

The CPS plug is connected to a bracket. You pry the plugs back toward the rear of the truck I believe. That should release the plugs (still connected) from the bracket. Then with one hand, reach up to the top plug and press in and hold the locking tab on the plug. Then with your other hand, gently pull down on the sensor and they should pop apart. It might help if you take the sensor off first before you try and unplug it. That way it might hang down a little further and give you something to pull on after to press the locking tab in. Hope that helps.

Right now, I am waiting for a hydraulic pump for the lift in my shop. I am 6'4'', 300lbs. huge hands, big arms, big chest, big shoulders. Back to the ground and all of that jazz does not work, though I tried like hell earlier. lol.

It was a few months ago when I relocated the ignition coils. Why did I do it? I did it because it made no sense to have to take the manifold off every time I had to change spark plug wires or the ignition coils. I'll take some pictures and post them. It really looks good and after I was done and all 8 fired correctly and in sequence. LOL...pay for new manifold gaskets, perform extra labor, and lay across the engine every time I have to replace spark plug wires and/or the coils? Nah. To change the plug wires, plugs, and ignition coils is now a 15 minute job. As for the thought of bypassing the CPS-no worries; it was a brain fart.

I did notice how condensate drips/runs onto the CPS. So, when I install the new one, I'll make it water tight.
