How can you tell if the drive shafts are bad?

A propshaft can easily pass the "shake" check yet fail the check described in post #10. If it fails the test in post 10 it can go to catastrophic failure quickly.

After some research I found a receipt from the previous owners papers. It shows that the 3 front u-joints were replaced 5k miles ago. Awesome...

Also, the shake test usually wont work if the vehicle is in park as the joints have a load and wont move. Have to chock the wheels and put it in neutral then do the shake test.
