How to determine bad fuel injectors
I had one that worked fine when I tested it with a 9v battery, but was actually ****ed. It threw a code for which one was bad. What are your symptoms?
Also, if you're pulling any you might as well clean them. I did a little write up on how to do that. It's under the write ups link in my sig.

Wow what's a great question. In subscribing to find out.
I saw a YouTube video about using some shrink tubing and a can of brake cleaner and a battery to clean them and test their spray pattern but I don't know how to find out whether they will open and close correctly.
As you may recall I had a very bad bent rod and destroyed piston because of a stuck injector. So I'd like to know too.
AFAIK you have to take them to a specialist.

We are on the stages of planning to replace the head gasket early April. The disco runs fine but sometimes felt like misfiring when idle or in low gear. I have been getting P1171 and browsed the forum. But results are very different and a lot of forums are dead end. Some from O2 sensors, Vacuum Leaks and plenty from fuel injectors but NO RESULTS after pages and pages of Q&A. I wish that members that have been helped continue to inform all the final results.
Im just thinking even with just two O2 sensors one could be bad out the box. That happened to me, but those sensors are easy to reach. Injectors are plenty. LOL!
Actually while writing this up I saw this 2 helpful link. Check it out. Cheers!

I've had the 1171 a couple times. Once was a vacuum leak and once was actually an exhaust leak. It was a leak between the manifold and the y-pipe. It allowed oxygen into the exhaust streak making the truck think it was experiencing a lean running condition. Just an idea.
