Default how do you remove radiator fan?

Hi I'm working on my Disco2 now, how do you remove radiator fan? I'm facing engine, should I turn my 36mm wrench clockwise to remove that fan?

Thanks a lot!

Nope, wrench handle goes toward passenger side (assumes NAS vehicle). Usually works well if you can pull up on belt, and pop handle of wrench sharply to break it loose. Like with a hammer. Slow pressure will just turn pulley.

Yeah, turn the wrench counter clockwise. Do you have a clutch fan wrench? I rented one from Advance Auto parts and it helped big time.

Default Thanks guys!! YES turn it toward passenger side!!

Thanks guys!! YES turn it toward passenger side!!

How do you remove radiator hose without hurting them? Haha sounds like a dump question but I did use heat gun to heat up the hose otherwise they stick so tight...

I'm going to swap out power steering pump tomorrow, thanks again!!

For me, usually releasing the hose clamp, and moving the clamp far enough back away from the thing the hose is clamped to, then gently twisting the hose at the base (where it covers the pipe) is enough to get it unstuck. Once the hose rotates freely around the pipe, I can pull it off with little effort.

... I didn't have to remove any coolant hoses when I changed my power steering pump last year. Not that I can remember anyway... but I also didn't remove the fan. I removed the entire auxiliary housing with the pump. It took a bit of contortion, but it worked.

edit: upon looking through RAVE, what I did follows the procedure. I could've sworn I did something different than recommended, and it worked. I will have to review my post from last year after I'm done reading all of the new threads
