Default How involved is adding the 99-02 oil cooler to my 04?

I’m going to be replacing the radiator in a couple weeks… wondering if I should expand the project to include this.

Anyone have a parts list?

Eh, never mind, doesn't look like there's too much benefit for the way I drive it. Just the radiator will do

Get a pancake adaptor from glowshift and a regular oil cooler, then it is easy.

I was going to do this. Still might. I have a oil cooler from a 2000. With the radiator out it's probably pretty easy via a sandwich adapter or the front cover ports. There is some chatter that the 04 front cover does not have the valve that routes the oil through the cooler, or something like that. I would probably use the sandwich adaptor if i go forward with it. At the moment I don't want to remove the radiator and deal with the coolant mess.

I just added cooler to my 04 recently. Used the front engine cover connections. Luckily we looked before replacing the cover with one off of an ‘02, the check valves etc were already installed. Just hooked it up with the stock hoses.

For a daily driver not required, but if you go fully loaded to Tahoe in summer it makes sense.

That was my takeaway from searching a bit too. This will never tow anything. The fully-loaded Tahoe burden goes to the 2002 though, so will probably pass on installing one for now. Maybe long-term, but the list of things is long and the time to do them is scarce right now.
