Default How to make more leg space in the pasenger footwell

New here, and already have a question...

I have a Disco 2 (2002 - pre face lift). Bought to do up over time and use on our livery yard and smallholding, and because I live at the foot of wee hill in Scotland.

Husband is 6' with long legs and a wonky hip. He's finding the size of the transmission tunnel is causing his leg/hip to twist. I've just had the, what seems to me anyway, bright idea of either putting in longer seat rails or moving them back, if either is possible? And, if either can be done, does it impact on the location of the seatbelt?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I seem to recall reading a post where the rails were pulled and flipped around giving more room to move the seat backwards.

Unfortunately, I can't find the post anywhere.

Thank you. I'll have another search. Good to know it can be done!

Body fit for larger drivers

While adjusting the pedal position helped me, I do still plan on following the advice of Sandman and others in the thread.

Thank you kindly. It's the passenger side that's the issue as he rarely drives it (my car!), but definitely worth considering doing both sides. Will go read.

I assumed they were the same, just realized I should double check that. I will be doing the passanger as well when I extend them as our dog likes to sleep at the footwell.

There might be some confusion here because most members of this forum are in the states so our passenger side is your driver side.

Here is a good article on extending travel for the seat rails:

In Scotland you may have an easy time finding a P38 RR to swap for your D2. A lot more leg room, and as comfortable as D2 is, the RR is that much more comfortable.
