Default How to remove HVAC controls?

Hello --

I'm working on replacing a burned-out light bulb in my HVAC controls. I've followed RAVE and removed the radio head unit, but can't seem to figure out how to remove the HVAC controls. I tried just pushing it out from the inside, but it seems to be catching on something.

Does anyone have any tips?

Thanks,
RedAustinIX (Ed)

Time to down load a free copy of the Rave CD, shop manual, it will walk you thru what to do.

He said he followed the RAVE and is now stuck. I've never removed it, so I can't help.

From the RAVE, electrical library, pix of the connectors on back of HVAC head. Note metal spring clips on sides (wedge shaped).

ok, I did some more Internet searching and found some helpful photos. In short, the RAVE manual is crap for this procedure.
1) Taking out the radio doesn't help at all
2) Remove the clock and the panel switches flanking the HVAC unit
3) Press in the metal springs on the left/right size of HVAC unit and it slides right out.

I'll try to do a quick write-up with photos for the next person. It's pretty easy, but not when you have to wrestle with everything.

Glad you got it figured out.
