OK update, Withe the nail fix in mind, I looked at the Philips head screw driver I used in place of the pin to deactivate the anti-theft system and figure why should i cut both ends?
I used a #4 screwdriver Philips head, cut at 3 7/8 Inches ( $6.50 at store), Ground down the end on a wheel until it fit in the handle parts hole. Since I did not have a drill press and two broken bits later i figured I could not drill through the hardened steal I put a flat mark at 12 o'clock. Tapped out the hole with a screw thread and put a tiny screw throw to hole it. Flat part on the pin and screw in top to hold. My buddy was a mechanic for the airlines for years so he had the tapping and screwing I dear,

Hope that this can help someone and thanks again abran!! :-) Always one than one more way to skin a cat.

I will add any new things that I come across because I am holding on to my Disco II and stuff will com up.

Hi, wanted to jump in on this as it sounds like there are some experts.

I'm having kind of the opposite problem. I just bought my 2nd D2 and i do not have a remote fob. The driver door lock is broken but it's open. I can open and close the door, start and drive the truck...all good. but I can't lock or engage the alarm.
I've purchase the lock pin and i'm planning on replacing shorty. i'm wondering though, is there a way I can bypass the entire alarm system and only lock and unlock the driver door with key without it engaging the alarm and locking all the other doors?

I would love that. I can always lock and unlock the other doors from there central switch near there clock.

Maybe that idea is crazy?

I'm no expert, but in my opinion it is not possible to disable the alarm system permanently.
