Default The hunt continues discovery 2000

Thanks everyone with your answers to my questions on my hunt for a discovery.
I now am supposed to look at a 2000 green 115000 mi.

They want 2900 the owner said that the lights on dash are on for
the suspension maybe? Will find out further. Also she said the as heat don't work. But besides that she drives it everyday.

Any thoughts on the offer I should make would 2200 be to low? Love to but it for two. But do not want to insult the owner either.

After inspection I will be back on with all the repairs needed. Thanks

Don't buy it unless they fix all the warning lights which could be hundreds or thousands of dollars. No heat mean there is a coolant leak, could be head gaskets, $2000 give or take.
In other words stay away from this one, doubt they will want to put any money into it and it is not worth your buying it just to spend a ton fixing it.

I bought my 2000 DII with 108K in Charleston, SC for $2500. TThe service engine soon light and 3 amigos were on. The girl I bought it from said it needed new "sparks and plugs". I didn't know anything about how problematic these trucks can be and bought it. Long story short I lucked out and after replacing the plugs and wires (one of the old wires was pretty much burned through) it runs great and ses light off. That being said I am still working through getting the 3 amigos to go off. I have probably close to $1000 in parts, doing the 60k maintinance, and having the dealer clear the codes once (I won't be doing that again). I think the head gaskets have been replaced as I found some paperwork in the glove box that referances that. There are still a few things I need to do to get it up to standard (paint headliner, replace a couple of blown speakers, ect.) These trucks are not hard to do basic work on and this forum is amazing. I can usually find multiple posts when I have a question and if not the members are very helpful. I would definately take the advice of the other guys and really know what you are getting. All this being said I have had mine for a couple months, put 1500 miles on it and I love it. Good luck.

Thanks Mike you saved me, so on I go and thanks kallgrer but it seems to me that the
head gasket is a given on all these disco? Is that correct Mike? Are there certain years that are better? Thanks for all your help.
