Default I changed my transfer case today...

I changed my transfer case today. Holy cow it made for a longer day than I expected! I did not have the special adapter for my transmission jack, so it was a little more difficult than I had expected. If anyone has any tips forpeople doing this in the future it wouldbe good info.tackling this situation it would be good info. I was able to use my jack, but it is so hard to stab the darn thing without damaging your seal. I had my dad helping me or I would have ruined the seal. If anyone has any tips for folks doing this in the future it would be darn good info.

twas a long strange trip,

shawn

Shawn,
What year is your truck, why did you replace your old t/case, do you have one with the locking CDL?

DiscoMike I have a 99 model. My transfer case wound up with a large crack in the bottom of it and would no longer hold fluid.

Bummer,
So have you used the CDL feature of your t/case for more traction?
